Trendstop's tradeshow team reveal the latest themes emerging at the London Designer Showrooms, bringing you the essential looks from directional designers who will be impacting the market into SS17 and beyond.

This week, FashionUnited Readers get an exclusive preview of three of the womenswear trends seen at the Designer Showrooms event. Customised Denims offers an innovative take on jeanswear with personalised artistic effects while The Patched Up Sweat brings a modern athletic feel to handcrafting. The Knitted Tank takes a retro classic and reworks it with contemporary knitting techniques and unexpected detailing in statement shades.

Customised Denims

Denim is given a personalised touch as jeans and skirts come with cool customised details. Multicoloured ribbon whip-stitching, raw edged ruffles and layered 'stick on' pockets give jeanswear pieces a unique feel with a retro flavour coming through in stonewashed finishes, frayed hems and loose fits.

The Patched Up Sweat

Patchwork takes an athletic approach to SS17 with sporty sweats adorned with mix-and-match materials. Activewear inspired fabric pieces in colour and texture contrasts come in placement patterns or layered while panelled jersey bodies feature mesh sleeves with textural ruffles for added femininity.

The Knitted Tank

The retro tank top is revived and revamped for Spring/Summer, utilizing contemporary knitting techniques for an up-to-date feel. Ribbed panels run horizontally and diagonally to create clean, form-fitting silhouettes. Boldly hued open knits and layered looks with crochet detailing offer a retro-modern mix.
