Amazon has signed up 10 million new members over the holiday season for its fast, free shipping initiative, Amazon Prime, which has helped the online retailer to a record-breaking season.

To mark the e-tailer’s 20th holiday season they have issued some fun holiday facts based on Amazon purchases, which also highlight how big a retail presence fashion has become for its customers during the festive period.

According to Amazon, if every shoe from each pair of pumps Amazon Fashion customers purchased this holiday season were stacked on top of each other they would equal 52 times the Empire State Building. Purchases of watches were enough to scale London’s Big Ben 1,148 times if stacked end-to-end, while the number of pairs of cowboy boots purchased was enough to provide a new pair of boots to the population of Cheyenne, Wyoming America, which is home to one of the largest outdoor rodeos in the world.

Other interesting fashion holiday facts included that the number of pairs of running shoes bought would be enough to give each participant of the Minneapolis Marathon a new pair of running shoes every time they started a new mile, and that enough Alex and Ani bracelets were purchased to give four Alex and Ani bracelets to every child born in the US with the name Alex in 2013.

The online retailer also confirmed that 60 percent of Amazon.com customers shopped using a mobile device this festive season, a figure that accelerated as customers got later into the shopping season. It also revealed that Cyber Monday continues to be Amazon.com’s peak mobile shipping day, even though Black Friday had the most rapid growth in mobile shopping.
