LIM College appoints new head of graduate studies

Fashion and business school LIM College in New York City recently announced its new head of graduate studies to be fashion professional and educator Eda Sanchez-Persampieri.

As head of graduate studies, the educator will be responsible for everything that relates to graduate-level education at LIM College, including hiring and mentoring faculty, developing curricula, creating new programs, and overseeing student advising.

Previously, Sanchez-Persampieri was director of entrepreneurship programs and director of the centre for entrepreneurship at St. Francis College, an institution that is also located in New York City.

At St. Francis college she was also an assistant professor in the Department of Management and Information Technology.

In this role, she taught courses and developing curricula in entrepreneurship, fashion and retailing, marketing, management, and operations.

From 2015 to 2017, Sanchez-Persampieri taught several graduate courses at LIM College, including Retail Management, Consumer Behavior, and Product Development.

She also developed a course on fashion entrepreneurship at the college, having published multiple articles and case studies on entrepreneurship education over the years.

At LIM College, she also served as an academic and capstone advisor for master degree students.

Sanchez-Persampieri has nearly two decades of experience in the fashion and lifestyle industry. Over the years she has held director positions and has worked at the brands Sean John, Daisy Fuentes, and Flint & Tinder.

When it comes to the retail sector, she has worked at retailer County Seat. In addition, she has held the position of retail and apparel small business development consultant, consulting on the launch of more than 50 small businesses since 2005.

Currently, Sanchez-Persampieri is completing a doctoral program in organisational management at Johnson & Wales University and expects to present her dissertation this spring.

LIM College currently offers fashion master programmes in Fashion Marketing, Fashion Merchandising and Retail Management, Global Fashion Supply Chain Management, and The Business of Fashion.

In addition, students can enrol in the master of science degree program in Consumer Analytics.

The New York college is also the only US higher education institution to date to offer a BBA programme in ‘The Business of Cannabis’.
