Richard Sullivan has been promoted to chief executive officer and executive officer of ASICS North America. He was previously president and chief operating officer of the same region. He will retain his title as president. The news was reported by WWD.

ASICS North America has been without a CEO since Koichiro Kodama was promoted to managing executive officer of the corporation last year. Sullivan will oversee Canada, Mexico, and U.S. with his appointment effective November 1.

Sullivan joined ASICS in 2016 as president of the Canadian division. From 2019 to 2020 he was executive vice president of North America where he oversaw digital sales, marketing, and merchandising. In 2020, he was promoted to chief operating officer.

The North American region has seen success under Sullivan’s leadership. In August, ASICS Corp. sales rose 50.6 percent for the region. The division also turned a profit. In the U.S., brand sales grew 51.8 percent.
