Los Angeles - After coming from difficult times at American Apparel, it seems that Paula Schneider is ready to move onto her next executive job. The former head of the Los Angeles apparel company has just been announced in as DG Premium Brands’ newest chief executive responsible for three major apparel brands.

Under DG Premium Brands, Schneider will now have control over 7 For All Mankind, Splendid and Ella Moss. Because of her past experience in the apparel industry, she has been elected for this role. “Paula brings an entrepreneurial mindset, demonstrated leadership skills and strong vision, which will be instrumental in executing our ambitious goals for these brands,” Isaac Dabah, chief executive officer of DG Premium Brands’ parent company Delta Galil said in a statement. Her duties in this position will include overseeing and promoting global growth as well as product expansion.

It seems that although American Apparel was not completely successful in overturning its company around under her leadership, it has not affected her career. With over 30 years of experience in building consumer brands and increasing operating earnings, Schneider is expected to help propel the three brands forward as much as possible. “With Delta Galil extensive manufacturing expertise, high quality products and commitment to innovation backing me, I am excited for the tremendous opportunities ahead in growing each of these brands,” she said in a statement.

The new change is a bit unexpected as Schneider only left American Apparel earlier this month on October 3. She spent two years serving as the chief executive officer at the Los Angeles apparel company before confirming her departure. In her time at the elevated basics brand, she worked with American Apparel during their bankruptcy and help implement plans to overturn the company. While she left earlier this month, she did not leave the retailer empty handed. “The [turnaround] plan has been laid out and much of the heavy lifting and the hard work has been done,” she said in a resignation letter that had been obtained by WWD. On this matter, American apparel declined to comment on behalf of the company.

Besides American Apparel, Schneider also worked at many recognized brands including BCBG Max Azria, Laundry by Shelli Segal, and Warnaco. She served as the president for these companies and helped to build these brands into more profitable companies. In her new role at DG Premium Brands, it seems highly probable that she will do the same.
