Poshmark, a leading social fashion resale marketplace, has appointed Deb Liu to its board of directors, effective immediately, as the company continues to strengthen its leadership team amid growth in its digital marketplace operations.
Liu’s appointment follows the recent addition of Heather Friedland as Poshmark’s first chief product officer, reflecting the company’s broader strategy to invest in experienced executives to drive innovation and expansion.
Announcing the appointment, Namsun Kim, chief executive officer of Poshmark, described Liu as “one of the most accomplished marketplace builders and respected technology leaders in Silicon Valley.”
“Her ability to connect people, ideas, and opportunities to create lasting, impactful platforms will help guide our vision and strategy,” Kim said. “From building Facebook Marketplace to leading Ancestry through a product and technology transformation, Deb’s approach to community and commerce will be invaluable as we progress through our next phase of growth.”
Liu brings more than two decades of experience in technology and product leadership. She most recently served as president and CEO of Ancestry, where she oversaw the company’s transformation and emphasis on technological innovation and inclusivity. Before joining Ancestry, Liu spent over a decade at Meta (formerly Facebook), where she conceived and launched Facebook Marketplace, and earlier in her career held key roles at eBay, helping to integrate the eBay and PayPal platforms.
Commenting on her new role, Liu said she was eager to contribute to Poshmark’s mission of sustainable and community-driven commerce.
Liu currently serves on the board of directors of Intuit and has been recognized among Business Insider’s “Most Powerful Female Engineers” and Payments Source’s “Most Influential Women in Payments.” She is also the founder of the non-profit Women In Product and the author of Take Back Your Power, a book on leadership and transformation.
