Valentino has officially announced the departure of co-creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri. Media reports suggest that Chiuri is all set to start a new chapter in her career at Christian Dior as its new Creative Director, after Raf Simons quit the company last year.

“After 25 years of creative partnership and of professional satisfactions we gave ourselves the opportunity of continuing our artistic paths in an individual way with the reciprocal desire of further great achievements,” said Chiuri and Piccioli in a joint statement issued by the company.

“Valentino and the people with whom I work with are a great part of my life. My decision of bringing forward the creative guide of this Maison is driven by the strong passion that triggers my work and by the desire of continuing to express here my stylistic vision,” said Pierpaolo Piccioli, Creative Director of Valentino.

Chiuri and Piccioli have worked together almost for eight years bringing brand Valentino to its current stature in the fashion accessories segment. The company witnessed its sales excel under their leadership.

“I thank Valentino Garavani and Giammetti for their support in these years and for everything that I have learned from them. I also thank Sassi and all the people that work within the Valentino Maison for their support in these years. I have shared with Pierpaolo a great part of my professional life and it has been an experience made of many successful creative achievements together,” said Maria Grazia Chiuri on her departure from the company.
