Abercrombie's YPB signs multi-season partnership with Barry's

Abercrombie & Fitch has signed a multi-season partnership between its activewear brand YPB and the boutique fitness chain Barry's, producing a collection of six men's styles and 12 women's styles that reaches Abercrombie.com and selected Abercrombie stores on October 1, followed by Barrys.com and 75 Barry's studios worldwide on October 15.

The capsule was developed with fit and design input from Barry's instructors Jon Herrmann, Amy Harioka and Lacy Mitchell, and takes its palette from the chain's Red Room studios: red accents against black and neutrals. Women's sizes run XXS to XXL and men's XS to XXL.

"Barry's has built an incredibly engaged community around performance and connection, making this partnership a natural fit for YPB," said Corey Robinson, brand president of Abercrombie & Fitch. "Working directly with Barry's instructors helped us create a collection rooted in real workout experience."

YPB also becomes the first official sponsor of Barry's new Mobile Studio, starting with a pop-up in Austin, Texas on October 2 and 3, timed to Austin City Limits, then a takeover of Barry's NoHo studio in New York from October 9 to 11.

"This meaningful collaboration brings together two iconic brands that started with Barry's instructors playing a role in the design and creation of the pieces," said J.J. Gantt, chief executive officer of Barry's.

It is the second sports partnership Abercrombie has announced in three days, after confirming on September 22 that it had extended its Dallas Cowboys deal for a second season and added the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. The brand is in its second year as the NFL's official fashion partner and recently agreed a distribution deal with Fanatics.

YPB launched in March 2022, initially as a soft launch, with most pieces priced between 40 and 80 dollars, and has become one of the ways Abercrombie has tried to extend its customer relationship beyond its core categories. The parent company reported record second-quarter net sales of 1.3 billion dollars for the quarter ended August 1, up 5 percent and a 15th consecutive quarter of growth, with Abercrombie brands up 8 percent.
