Debenhams Group sells Nasty Gal for 16 million dollars

UK-based online platform Debenhams Group, formerly known as Boohoo Group, has completed the sale of the Nasty Gal brand to US-based White Space Group New York, LLC, operating as WSG Brands (WSG). The total cash consideration for the global intellectual property rights of the label amounts to 16 million dollars.

In the 2026 financial year, Nasty Gal generated gross merchandise value (GMV) of 12 million pounds (16.19 million dollars) and adjusted EBITDA of 0.4 million pounds. Debenhams Group stated that the non-core brand is not material to the business.

Capital-lite marketplace strategy

The transaction aligns with the strategic transition of Debenhams Group towards a capital-lite, marketplace-led business model.

The deal also follows the sale of the Sheffield Distribution Centre belonging to the group for 90 million pounds, which was announced on September 10, 2026.

"Our turnaround continues at pace," said Debenhams Group chief executive officer Dan Finley. "The disposal of this non-core asset aligns with our strategy and further strengthens the balance sheet following the 90 million pounds sale of our Sheffield Distribution Centre".

Debenhams Group operates online retail platforms including Debenhams, Karen Millen, Boohoo, MAN, and PrettyLittleThing (PLT).
