Designer Jonathan Riss sues Prada for five million dollars over "abandoned" project

A project named "Prada Strada", a collaboration between Prada and Belgian designer Jonathan Riss, has ended in a legal dispute. The project was intended to customise a fleet of Rolls-Royce cars for a global event tour. The project, however, failed to launch and Riss has now brought Prada and three of its top executives into a contractual dispute worth over five million dollars.

The designer accuses Patrizio Bertelli, chairman and executive director of Prada Group; Miuccia Prada, executive director, co-creative director of Prada alongside Raf Simons, and creative director of Miu Miu; and Lorenzo Bertelli, executive director and chief marketing officer and head of corporate social responsibility of Prada Group. Riss alleges they abandoned the initiative after he spent years developing it and millions of dollars preparing for its market launch.

The lawsuit was filed at the High Court of Hong Kong, as reported by The Fashion Law. Riss and his company, Ahrsenal Limited, are seeking over five million dollars in damages from Prada in relation to the failed project, which the parties had named "Prada Strada".
