Donatella Versace's new brand: inside her beauty and fashion venture with Revolve
Donatella Versace is back.
The Italian fashion designer and businesswoman, who led Versace as its artistic and creative director from 1997 to 2025, announced on Monday a new independent venture in partnership with Revolve. The project was described in a statement as a new beauty and fashion business centered around how a new generation discovers style, experiences culture, shops, shares, and connects.
“I believe creativity should be fearless, inclusive and alive in the world. I have always been inspired by the next generation, in music, film, art and, of course, fashion. This partnership gives me the freedom to speak to that generation in a completely new and personal way, through beauty and fashion. Revolve understands something I believe deeply: culture comes from connection. Together, we want to create that connection with a new voice, a new look and a new energy,” Donatella Versace said.
The partnership marries Versace’s influence across fashion, music, entertainment and popular culture with Revolve’s global community, the statement said. It will initially launch across the United States, Latin America, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.
Donatella to lead as chief creative officer
“Donatella is one of the defining creative voices of our time. This partnership gives that vision an entirely new platform and the freedom to build something from the ground up,” Michael Mente, co-founder and co-CEO at Revolve Group, said.
Versace will lead the venture’s creative vision as chief creative officer.
“By combining Donatella’s creative authority with Revolve's technology, infrastructure and global reach, we have an opportunity to create something genuinely distinctive — and build it for the long term,” Mike Karanikolas, co-founder and co-CEO at Revolve Group, said.
The brand will debut its first beauty project in the next months, along with its name and creative vision. A fashion release will follow after.
Donatella Versace, sister to Versace’s eponymous founder Gianni, stepped down as creative director of the Italian brand and back into the position of chief brand ambassador in 2025. Dario Vitale replaced her, becoming the first designer outside the Versace family to lead the creative direction of the house. He exited Versace's creative director role after serving just one season and eight months in the role, being later replaced by Pieter Mulier. Vitale was recently confirmed as Emporio Armani's new creative director.
Revolve Group is a Los Angeles–based, digitally native fashion retailer that built its business on influencer-driven content, creator partnerships and social-first discovery for Millennial and Gen Z shoppers. Founded in 2003 by co-CEOs Michael Mente and Mike Karanikolas, the company operates the Revolve and FWRD platforms and works with more than 1,600 brands across apparel, footwear, accessories and beauty.
