Inditex surpasses 60 euros per share for first time, reaching 189 billion euros in market capitalisation

Madrid – Neither Inditex shares nor the company itself had ever been worth more on the market until the trading session on Thursday, November 5, 2026. While the market awaits the future trajectory of the Spanish fashion multinational and its stock, the day has already become a historic milestone for the Zara owner. This follows its shares breaking through the 60 euros per share threshold.

This follows earlier reports from FashionUnited on Thursday morning highlighting the upward trajectory of Inditex shares. The surge was driven by positive market reactions to the Republican Party's electoral defeat in the US midterm elections. Continuing the momentum from the previous day, Inditex shares rallied once again during the session. Shares of the parent company of Zara, Zara Home, Bershka, Massimo Dutti, Pull&Bear, Oysho, Stradivarius and Lefties gained a further +2.68 percent. They climbed from Wednesday's close of 59.06 euros (66.02 dollars) per share to an intraday high of 60.64 euros on Thursday. This represents the highest value ever achieved by Inditex on the stock exchange. After touching this new record high early in the session, the stock moderated and hovered around the 60 euros mark throughout the day. Ultimately, for the first time since the Spanish fashion multinational went public, Inditex shares closed above this threshold. The stock ended the session up +1.69 percent at 60.06 euros per share.

With a total of 3,116,652,000 shares in circulation, and taking into account both the intraday record and the closing high, Inditex reached a peak market capitalisation of just over 189 billion euros on Thursday. Following the slight moderation later in the day, the company's valuation settled slightly lower. Inditex closed the session with a market capitalisation of just over 187.18 billion euros.

Amancio Ortega holds fortune of over 112 billion euros in Inditex shares

This latest rally in the Spanish fashion multinational's share price has significantly impacted the net worth of its main shareholders and executives. Starting with Amancio Ortega, the founder and majority shareholder of the company owns 1,848,000,315 Inditex shares through the investment vehicles Pontegadea Inversiones and Partler Participaciones. Following the new all-time trading high on Thursday, these holdings reached a peak valuation of over 112.06 billion euros.

Meanwhile, Sandra Ortega Mera, daughter of Ortega and his first wife Rosalía Mera Goyenechea, holds approximately 157,484,427 Inditex shares through the holding company Rosp Corunna Participaciones Empresariales. Based on the same intraday record high of 60.64 euros per share, her stake reached a record valuation of over 9.54 billion euros on Thursday.

Holding a considerably smaller number of shares in her name, Marta Ortega Pérez, daughter of Ortega and his second wife Flora Pérez, is the current non-executive chair of Inditex. Pérez owns 42,511 shares in the group, which reached a peak valuation of just over 2.57 million euros on Thursday.

Finally, Óscar García Maceiras, chief executive officer of Inditex since November 2021, directly holds 158,237 shares in the company. These holdings reached a peak valuation of over 9.59 million euros yesterday.

Upside potential narrows to just +0.55 percent

Regarding the Spanish company's future stock market trajectory, the recent record highs have significantly narrowed its upside potential, which stood at just +0.55 percent at Thursday's close. This percentage represents the gap between Inditex's closing price of 60.06 euros and the current analyst consensus target price of 60.39 euros. Notably, this target valuation was temporarily surpassed during the session when Inditex shares soared to 60.64 euros per share, standing +0.41 percent above the consensus target price.

Taking the intraday record high of 60.64 euros per share as a reference, the stock stood +2.05 percent above the previous peak of 59.42 euros per share recorded during the trading session on August 11. Furthermore, at this new peak, Inditex shares have gained +7.63 percent compared to their 2025 closing price of 56.34 euros, and +26.49 percent compared to the 47.94 euros recorded at the close of trading on November 5, 2025.
