Klarna achieves 18 percent GMV and 27 percent revenue growth in Q2
Swedish digital finance network Klarna reported its financial results for the second quarter of 2026, delivering positive net income and notable expansion across key operational metrics.
During the quarter, gross merchandise volume (GMV) reached 36.6 billion dollars, marking an 18 percent increase year-over-year (YoY). Revenue rose 27 percent YoY to 1.042 billion dollars, driven by higher transaction frequency among active users.
“Over 120 million consumers now use Klarna, and each is using it for more of their everyday spend — revenue per active consumer grew 24%. That deepening engagement is why transaction margin dollars grew 42%, well ahead of revenue and volume. We measure our progress in transaction margin dollars,” stated chief executive officer and co-founder, Sebastian Siemiatkowski.

Updated full-year 2026 outlook
For full-year 2026, Klarna updated its financial guidance. Full-year GMV is expected between 149 billion dollars and 151 billion dollars, revised from earlier expectations of over 155 billion dollars. The revision reflects approximately 600 million dollars in currency translation impacts and lower volumes in Germany. US volume assumptions remain unchanged.
Full-year revenue is projected between 4.08 billion dollars and 4.16 billion dollars. Transaction margin dollars raised to a range of 1.62 billion dollars to 1.65 billion dollars. Adjusted operating income is anticipated between 280 million dollars and 300 million dollars, representing 6.9 percent to 7.2 percent of revenue. This compares with 65 million dollars delivered in full-year 2025.
For the third quarter of 2026, Klarna projects GMV between 35 billion dollars and 36 billion dollars, revenue between 940 million dollars and 980 million dollars, transaction margin dollars between 340 million dollars and 360 million dollars, and adjusted operating income between 5 million dollars and 15 million dollars.
