LuxExperience to sell The Outnet assets in 30 million dollar deal
LuxExperience – the luxury group formed following Mytheresa’s acquisition of Yoox Net-a-Porter (YOOX) – has announced that it has entered into an agreement with The O Group LLC to sell the set of assets that power multibrand platform The Outnet.
The deal, to be made for a cash consideration of 30 million dollars, includes the relevant brand rights, customer data, full inventory, the US distribution centre and the “required” workforce in the US and UK.
The value remains subject to adjustments based on inventory levels at the closing of the transaction, which is expected to finalise in Q1 2026 after the parties receive necessary regulatory approvals.
After closing, LuxExperience said it will retain a commercial relationship with The Outnet and, for a certain period, continue to provide certain operational and IT services.
LuxExperience to redirect focus on off-price segment
For The Outnet, the transaction intends to enable the platform to “achieve its full potential”, a press release said, with the company set to take on an independent, standalone business model.
The e-retailer, founded in London in 2009, reported net sales of 260 million euros in fiscal year 2025. It was acquired as part of LuxExperience's wider take over YOOX, serving as one part of the group's off-price segment.
As such, by offloading The Outnet’s assets, LuxExperience intends to refocus its off-price resources on the remaining Yoox business as part of a wider transformation plan that has been underway at the company since May 2025.
Such efforts have included the ongoing renewal of its infrastructure platform, driven by the simplification of its operating model with the goal of regaining growth and financial strength for the Yoox division.
New York-based The O Group will now step in to oversee The Outnet’s operations. The company, which serves as a branding consultancy specialising in luxury labels, already operates a portfolio spanning everything from fashion and jewellery to hospitality and food.
