Takko Fashion builds on growth in first half-year

Takko Fashion is continuing its record-breaking performance.

Following a strong start to the 2026/27 financial year, the fashion discounter saw significant growth in the second quarter. Turnover increased by 10.8 percent to 381 million euros. This marks the highest quarterly figure in the company's history, as the Telgte-based company announced on Tuesday.

Takko also set a new record for earnings. Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) climbed by 12 percent to 86.4 million euros. Like-for-like (LFL) sales growth was 7.2 percent.

The womenswear and kidswear categories performed particularly well, each recording double-digit growth rates. According to the company, all product ranges contributed to this growth. Takko also gained further market share in Germany. Business also developed strongly in numerous European markets.

Positive half-year results

The half-year results are therefore also very positive. In the first six months of the financial year, turnover rose by 7.1 percent to 676 million euros. Adjusted EBITDA increased by 15.5 percent to 119.4 million euros. The corresponding margin improved by 1.3 percentage points to 17.7 percent.

Takko sees these figures as confirmation of its profitable growth trajectory. CEO Martino Pessina attributes this development to the implementation of the 'Shine 2028' strategy. The focus is on investments in the product range, stock availability, shopping experience, and digital customer loyalty.

"We are investing in what matters to our customers: an attractive product range, improved availability, an appealing shopping experience, and digital customer loyalty," said the managing director. "Through the continuous development of our collections and the strategic expansion of our store network, we are sharpening our positioning as a quality fashion discounter and offering our customers tangible added value."

The discounter is also expanding its store network. In the first half of the year, Takko opened 59 new stores and modernised just as many existing locations with the new store design. The company reached a special milestone in July with the opening of its 2,000th store in Essen's city centre. Alongside its expansion, Takko also aims to strengthen its brand awareness. For the current autumn/winter season, the company launched a campaign with Michelle Hunziker, in which the entertainer presents six of her favourite looks from the Takko collection.

Interim CFO Tobias Merz meanwhile emphasised the profitability of the growth. He stated that Takko has expanded its price leadership, thereby achieving significant volume increases and strong gross profit growth. At the same time, the company has successfully made targeted investments in implementing the 'Shine' strategy and further improved its liquidity position.
