With sunny Los Angeles as the backdrop for their newest line, & Other Stories and Clare Vivier showcased brilliant designs unifying French minimalist style with Californian lax fashion. As Vivier’s second collaboration with & Other Stories, her vibrant pieces came to life through their most recent photoshoot. Using Los Angeles’ chicest neighborhoods to their advantage, the collaboration highlighted their eclectic accessories such as totes, fanny packs, clutches, purses, scarfs, loafers, and shoulder bags. “The collection is feminine, but also outspoken and give our customers a piece of her charming style," says Sara Hildén Bengtsson, Creative Director of & Other Stories.
In order to successfully display the brand in a way that would speak to locals in Los Angeles county, the models chosen for the shoot were Meryl Streep’s daughters. Knowing the daughters for a couple years now, Vivier incorporated the three beauties in the presentation of her designs. Mamie, Grace, and Louisa Gummer modelled the pieces effortlessly showing off the line’s west coast aesthetic. Vivier first met Mamie when she starred in a video Vivier made for the opening of her store in New York back in 2013. After, Vivier met Louise who inevitably ended up working as an employee for Vivier’s shop. Lastly, she met the third sister, Grace. “They are my perfect customer[s] - creative, hardworking, tasteful, urban women,” said Vivier.
Stephen Shore, the photographer on the shoot, explained the series of photographs as bringing you along on a Los Angeles trip that features Vivier’s own personal studio as well as her favorite spots in the city. Creating a new and fresh concept for a shoot resulted in a strong SoCal vibe for the photos as well as the entire collaboration. Celebrating all of their hard work, last night the pre-launch of Vivier’s collection was held as the concept store Stephen Alan at the Los Angeles location.
The collection will be from February 27 to March 8 in Stephen Alan stores available in Los Angeles and New York. The rest of the items will be available to all from March 5 online.
