D&G reinvents 'grand Sicilian family' wardrobe

Milan - Dolce & Gabbana has reviewed the wardrobe of grand Sicilian families and updated it for its spring/summer 2027 collection, presented on Saturday during Milan Fashion Week.

At its headquarters, before an audience filled with celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Dolce & Gabbana showcased a collection combining lace and faux fur with leopard prints and denim. The brand also adorned its jackets with dozens of necklaces.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana thus continue to delve into a style that is sensual and sometimes striking, yet also artisanal and comforting.

Rips in the jeans are covered with lace, while trousers are filled with gold brooches.

Black embroidered outfits are worn with rain boots, in a nod to the spirit of English festivals.

The designers wanted to "open the wardrobes of the great Sicilian families" and create a dialogue between "the precious and the everyday", the brand explained in a note.

The Italian house has begun a relaunch process by refinancing its debt, according to the Italian press.

It also announced in the spring the arrival of Stefano Cantino, a former Gucci executive. He will serve as co-chief executive officer of the group, alongside Alfonso Dolce, who is president of D&G and brother of Domenico.
