Canadian brand Frank and Oak is launching a new zero-waste sneaker in an exclusive drop with long-time collaborator Thousand Fell, available on August 14.
The Court shoe features a limited-edition colourway in black-white-and-beige with dual-logo brand embossing, and is notably made from various food discards, including coconut husk and sugar cane. It retails for 155 dollars in both the U.S. and Canada.
“We are now excited to bring a new exclusive style made from the same innovative, fully recyclable materials,” said Frank and Oak CEO Dustin Jones in a press release, citing the success of previous collaborations as inspiration for the brand’s latest iteration.
Crafted in Brazil, the unisex sneaker features stain-proof, odour-proof, and water-resistant qualities for increased durability and longevity. Along with the use of bio-materials, the shoe also consists of recycled bits sourced from natural rubber, plastic, and yoga mats.
Thousand Fell is a footwear brand focused on creating next-generation sneakers that combat fashion’s impact on textile waste, which co-founder Chloe Songer described as a shared mission with Frank and Oak. “The Court shoe combines the style and sustainability that Frank and Oak stands for, with the circular footwear system that Thousand Fell has innovated,” said Songer in the same press statement.
