Shapewear retailer Shapermint has teamed up with Real Housewives of New York star, Eboni K. Williams, to celebrate National Shapewear Day.
The brand’s week-long campaign ‘Celebrate Your Shape, Wear Confidence’ rounded out with a celebration of body positivity. The streets of New York were taken over by women in Shapermint shapewear riding a branded double-decker bus, stopping off at popular locations around the city, including Bryant Park and Madison Square Garden.
To top off the celebrations, Shapermint gave away a total of one million dollars worth of shapewear nationwide. The campaign aimed to encourage customers to feel confident in their bodies while demolishing the stigma built around shapewear. It fell in line with the brand’s mission of fostering an inclusive community that supports everyone’s body types.
“Now more than ever we must encourage women of all shapes and sizes to embrace and love their bodies,” said Eboni K. Williams, in a statement on the brand’s website. “Shapewear is one of the most versatile and supportive articles of clothing a woman can have. Instead of considering shapewear as taboo or anti-body positive, we should stand by everybody’s decision to seek the support they desire through clothing that cares for their bodies. I am honoured to stand with a brand that encourages women to be proud of and comfortable in the skin they are in.”
Shapermint is well-known for putting its customer at the forefront of the conversation. Its Shape the Future exclusive community on Facebook has a total of over 1,500 members, after launching late last year. The group encourages women to voice their opinions and talk about their needs while sharing feedback on the newest products often given away for free. It’s a simple but effective way of putting consumer needs first.
