Soia & Kyo set to open first store

The Canadian brand Soia & Kyo is set to open its first retail store at the Mississauga’s Square One Mall in Toronto. The grand opening, set for this August, will coincide with the debut of the company’s Fall/Winter 2018 collection.

Run by Creative Director Ilan Elfassy, Soia & Kyo offers outerwear pieces such as leather jackets and wool coats - for both men and women. The company, which opened in Montreal in 2004, specializes in creating outerwear that it timeless yet offers a contemporary edge.

The fashion house gained attention early last year when Meghan Markle was seen sporting the brand’s Nollie sports jacket and Henia baseball cap while on the set of her series Suits in Toronto.

The brand is one of several outerwear companies to recently open retail locations. Soia & Kyo’s sister brand Mackage now as stores in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver and New York City. Canada Goose launched its first physical shop in Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Center in 2016 and a string of outlets have followed.

Soia & Kyo items are currently sold throughout the U.S. at high ends retailers like Nordstrom and Bloomingdales. The brand’s entire collection is available online at soia & kyo.com to customers worldwide.
