Men's luxury brand Spyder has made a triumphant return to Milan Fashion Week: Men's this season under the guide of new creative director Christopher Bevans. Bevans was formerly the designer for music superstars Kanye West and Pharrell. With hip-hop's continued influence on fashion, Bevans was an excellent choice to usher Spyder into a new era.

For his first collection for the brand Bevans fused the worlds of urban active and athletic wear to create a collection fit for both sports enthusiasts and metropolitan trendsetters. Comfort and efficiency were the end goals of the training lineup, although style was not forsaken. A range of fabrics were used to create different textures and tactile effects highlighting the functional ergonomic cuts of performance T-shirts, leggings, hoodies, vests and windbreakers, with every design to be mixed and matched for a cool layered look.

The running outfits were done in chameleon color gradation and reflective abstract prints to give a distinctive, striking look to Spyder's intriguing running outfits. As fashion and tech also begin to intersect, the running outfits also incorporate high-tech body mapping to check temperature before and after a run.

Bevans bids for the customers riding on nineties nostalgia was evident with the range of tracksuits, fleece sweatshirts and oversized puffers embellished with bold color blocking and geometric patchwork. The pieces echoed the vibe of the MTV generation, which contrasted with the futuristic vibe of the high-tech garments.

The looks were completed with accessories developed by Peter Brunsberg, the founder and creative director of Berlin-based label Bagjack. The highly practical city styles, showing a minimal, high-tech design, include multi pocket crossbody bags, backpacks and fanny packs worked in graphic color combinations and embellished with decorative applications in the shape of the iconic Spyder logo.
