London - Carven is set to say goodbye to its artistic director design duo following their brief tenure.

Alexis Martial and Adrien Caillaudaud, who were previously named artistic directors for the Parisian fashion label's women's collection last March, will be exiting their roles at Carven as part of a "mutual agreement," confirmed the company in a statement to FashionUnited.

Carven has yet to named their successor, but will appoint a new artistic director at a later date. Martial and Caillaudaud departure comes not long after Carven presented its women's wear collection for Spring/Summer 2017 during Paris Fashion Week. The design duo are said to have looked back to the fashion house's roots and its late founder, Marie-Louise Carven who passed away last June , for inspiration for the collection.

The duo are said to have first met each other years ago at the Atelier Chardon Savard fashion school in Paris. Afterwards both Martial and Caillaudaud went on to work at Givenchy, with Martial joining the team in 2007 as a knitwear designer for ready-to-wear and couture and Caillaudaud in 2009, as accessories, jewelry, leather goods and footwear designer.

Their departure from Carven comes during another period of change within the fashion industry and follows on from the founder of Marni, Consuelo Castiglioni stepping down from her role as creative director and Roberto Cavalli parting ways with its creative director, Peter Dundas.
