Footwear brand Crocs has expanded its 'Old Crocs. New Life' shoe takeback program across the nation. Now all Crocs retail and outlet locations in the United States, minus Hawaii and Puerto Rico, feature designated collection boxes where customers can return Crocs footwear in any condition to be upcycled or recycled.

Customers can also send back their used Crocs shoes by visiting crocs.com/oldcrocsnew.html and applying for a no-cost mail-back kit. Customers who return their old Crocs will receive a one-time 10 percent discount on Crocs products, for use in store or online.

"We are expanding our 'Old Crocs. New Life' program, taking learnings from last year's pilot and working to create an even bigger impact together with our fans," said Deanna Bratter, VP of global head of sustainability at Crocs, Inc in a statement. "The growth of this program is an exciting continuation of our efforts to address the environmental and social challenges faced by the footwear industry and ultimately make a difference by keeping shoes on feet and out of landfills."

The nationwide expansion of the program follows the success of the pilot introduced in October 2023, the 'Old Crocs. New Life' scheme. Through this program, Crocs aims to optimize each pair's reuse through ongoing partnerships and product innovation.

Gently used Crocs will be donated to Soles4Souls, a global non-profit that fosters local economic growth through entrepreneurship, while old, unwearable Crocs will be repurposed or upcycled, transforming them into new products. The program is part of Crocs wider strategy to find new pathways to reduce waste in manufacturing, distribution, and end-of-life processes while fostering a more circular economy for footwear.
