Eastside Golf's new store located at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW), Terminal A, Gate 34 Credits: Eastside Golf.

Eastside Golf is venturing into retail. The Californian brand has opened its first US-based retail store in Detroit Metropolitan Airport in Michigan.

Located in Terminal A and operated in partnership with travel retail operator Paradies Lagardère, the 300 square foot store houses a curated selection of the brand’s apparel and accessories.

The opening reflects further expansion of the golf label, which had previously sold via US retailers, such as Nordstrom and Dick’s Sporting Goods, and garnered increased interest through brand partnerships with the likes of Jordan Brand and the National Basketball Association.

Eastside Golf, which already operates one store in Tokyo in partnership with High Draw, has reported “rapid growth” since its founding in 2019, reflecting what the brand said is a “desire among consumers for an updated, relevant and authentic vision” to golf.

The decision to expand into US retail came after Eastside Golf became a top-selling brand within stores involved in the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) Tour in 2024.

Meanwhile, the opening in Detroit is a “full circle moment” for co-founders, Olajuwon Ajanaku and Earl Cooper, both of whom had previously worked in the city before launching the brand.

For Aaron Bonham, SVP, CMO at Paradies Lagardère, the move to work with Eastside Golf was driven by how well the brand was selling in the firm’s partner stores, making the partnership a “natural evolution”.

Bonham added: “As golf continues to gain more cultural relevancy and credibility, we anticipate this store will perform incredibly well and look forward to expanding our partnership through our PGA Tour Shops and future Eastside Golf locations."
