Timberland has opened its newest retail store at Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh, N.C., marking the brand's only specialty store in the state.
The 1,639-square-foot store, located on the mall's second floor at 4325 Glenwood Ave., opened its doors on July 17. To mark the occasion, Timberland hosted opening activations across the weekend, including gift-with-purchase items — a tote bag with footwear purchases, and branded playing cards or a coaster set with all other purchases, while supplies last — as well as an in-store boot customization station, featuring a lace and patch bar.
Inside, the store carries a large assortment of footwear, apparel and accessories for men, women and kids. Footwear highlights include the brand's iconic Premium 6-Inch Boot, Timberland PRO safety footwear for the trades, and new casual and outdoor styles, while the apparel offering focuses on everyday layers and Timberland's signature outerwear.
The Raleigh store joins an existing Timberland outlet in Smithfield, N.C., with another outlet slated to open at Charlotte Premium Outlets later this month.
The opening comes amid a broader retail push for the VF Corporation-owned brand. Timberland reportedly plans to open 20 new stores across outlet and specialty locations in fiscal 2027. In June, the brand opened a store at the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, N.J., its 14th outlet or specialty store in the greater New York-New Jersey area, the same month it debuted a specialty store at South Shore Plaza in Braintree, Mass. A boutique location at Cherry Hill Mall in New Jersey is also in the works.
Speaking to analysts on VF Corp.'s fourth quarter conference call, president and CEO Bracken Darrell said the productivity of Timberland's new stores offered early proof that the brand's new operating model was working as planned, noting that the Premium 6-Inch Boot remains the key engine behind Timberland's momentum.
