Lenzing debuts Remod collection and expands Tencel Lyocell - HV100 network
Austrian fiber manufacturer Lenzing Group has collaborated with Japanese denim manufacturer Kaihara Corporation to launch the Remod collection, showcasing new applications for wood-based fibers.
Unveiled at the Kingpins Amsterdam trade show on October 14, 2026, the collection highlights three fiber options within denim applications: Tencel Lyocell Standard, Tencel Lyocell - HV100, and Tencel Lyocell dtex 2.2. The range includes heavyweight menswear jackets, mid-weight wide-leg and stretch jeans, and cotton-free casual shirting.
“Tencel fibers have been part of Kaihara's collections since the 1990s and every chapter has asked something different about the material,” said Lenzing global business development manager for denim Dennis Hui. “What makes this latest ‘Remod Collection’ especially exciting is how each fiber is celebrated in various applications as a discovery of what is possible with each Tencel fiber type”.
Fiber technology reinterprets denim character
The collection highlights distinct fiber variations designed to replicate traditional textures while adding drape and softness. Tencel Lyocell - HV100 utilizes Variocut technology to create deliberate length variations in the fiber, producing subtle irregularities and a matte appearance characteristic of cotton.
Tencel Lyocell dtex 2.2 features a 51 millimeter staple length and a coarser structure, providing a drier touch and natural slub pattern similar to linen without adding extra weight. Tencel Lyocell Standard contributes fluid drape, softness, and color depth.
“Texture is one of the most defining elements of premium denim, shaping both its character and visual appeal,” stated Kaihara Corporation director of market planning division Akihiro Maehara. “For this collection, we harnessed the unique attributes of each Tencel Lyocell fiber type to add value to the denim in distinct ways”.
Tencel Lyocell - HV100 partner network reaches nearly 50 mills
Marking one year since its initial release, the Tencel Lyocell - HV100 mill partner network has expanded with its third cohort. Launched in October 2025 with 17 mills across five countries, the network grew to 37 mills by April 2026 and now includes nearly 50 mills across 13 countries.
The latest expansion, Volume 3, introduces Indian mills to the program for the first time, including LNJ, Signet, Anubha, and Bhaskar. Other additions include Nien Hsing from Taiwan, Discovery, Foison, and Advance from China, Vicunha from Brazil, and NDM and Rajby from Pakistan.
The fiber integrates directly into standard manufacturing setups, allowing mills to adopt the material using existing equipment, processing steps, and chemical formulations without extra capital expenditure.
“Planning a denim programme means committing months ahead, so a material that behaves predictably in supply, in processing, in how it wears is worth a great deal,” explained Lenzing head of global business development for denim Tuncay Kılıçkan. “Tencel Lyocell - HV100 gives brands that, while preserving the authenticity, timelessness and comfort that make denim a wardrobe staple”.
