Madhappy opens flagship store in Seoul, as it seeks growth in key markets
Los Angeles-based fashion brand Madhappy has opened its first flagship store in Seoul, South Korea, as it continues to roll out its international expansion strategy.
Located in Dosan Park, the 3,400-square-foot brick-and-mortar boutique was developed in partnership with Los Angeles-based creative studio PlayLab, Inc.
The brand’s fifth flagship store, it builds on the visual language Madhappy previously established in its other retail locations, imagining the concept as an “abstract forest of wood columns.” Some of these columns have been preserved from the building's original structure, while others are new and used to divide the store’s interior into areas for shopping, cafe, and community events.
The interiors are covered in blue terrazzo, which serves as a backdrop for the wooden columns. In the center of the store are two columns flanked by custom glass-and-fabric sofas. Outside, custom benches extend the design into a garden-like storefront, reinforcing Madhappy’s focus on nature and communal gathering.
The brand’s second international store, the Seoul store, also includes Pantry, Madhappy’s café concept first launched in West Hollywood, with a menu developed in collaboration with local and international partners. In line with its previous store openings, Madhappy developed a limited-edition capsule collection that is exclusively available in its Seoul store.
The Seoul opening follows the Madhappy store opening in Tokyo in October 2025, as Madhappy takes a localized, experience-driven approach to its international expansion. The brand is using its flagship stores and iPantry café concept to establish physical community hubs in key capitals.
In addition, Madhappy is combining market-specific products and culinary partnerships with local media, influencers, and cultural collaborations, while leveraging partnerships ranging from luxury names such as Marni to global brands including Puma.
