Paul Stuart returns to Michigan Avenue with opening of new flagship store

Luxury menswear retailer Paul Stuart opened a new flagship store on North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, marking its return to the city's 'Magnificent Mile.'

The opening sees Paul Stuart relocate its former Oak Street store to a new, 5,250 square-foot, two-storey store at 822 North Michigan Avenue. The new store features an exposed tailor shop on the East Pearson side of the building, elegant finishes and accents in wood and marble as well as a nouveau vintage starburst light fixture.

“We are excited to return our flagship outpost to the iconic Michigan Avenue,” said Trevor Shimpfky, CEO and president of Paul Stuart, in a statement. “This store represents more than just a retail space; it's a testament to our dedication to providing an unparalleled shopping experience to our valued customers."

The second floor of the store is dedicated to Paul Stuart's tailored clothing collection and the store's Made-to-Measure, as well as its customLAB areas, its younger and more accessible Made-to-Measure launched in 2018, that lets customers create custom garments to their exact measurements.

In addition, the new store also includes a bar, The Michigan Bar, which provides customers the opportunity to enjoy a fine-crafted cocktail. "We can't wait to showcase Paul Stuart's distinctive blend of craftsmanship, sophistication, and sartorial excellence to the Magnificent Mile," added Shimpfky.

The new opening comes close to three decades after the New York-based retailer opened its first store in Chicago at 875 North Michigan Avenue in 1995. Paul Stuart currently operates stand-alone stores across Southampton, Chicago, and Washington, DC, as well as online.
