Private equity firm L Catterton backs Glance to expand AI shopping in the US
US-based private equity firm L Catterton announced a strategic investment in Singapore-based Glance, an artificial intelligence-powered personal shopping platform backed by Indian multinational technology company InMobi.
The capital commitment is designed to support the development of agentic shopping solutions and accelerate international expansion, with a targeted emphasis on the US market.
InMobi and Glance founder and CEO Naveen Tewari positioned the partnership as verification of software-driven retail navigation:
“L Catterton is one of the most respected investment firms in the consumer space, with an extraordinary track record of identifying and building category-defining brands. Their decision to back Glance is a validation of the shopping model we’ve created and our belief that the future of commerce will move beyond search toward agentic shopping.”
Glance operating model
Glance integrates directly into consumer electronics, including smartphones and connected televisions, positioning personal shopping features directly on lock screens and home interfaces. The platform uses agentic AI systems to evaluate consumer tastes, present curated product recommendations, and guide shoppers from initial discovery to point-of-sale.
Through strategic agreements with multinational electronics manufacturer Samsung and US satellite broadcast provider DirecTV, Glance is currently operational on millions of connected screens across the US.
Leadership comments on transition toward agentic commerce
L Catterton global CEO Scott Dahnke highlighted how technology is reshaping retail pathways:
“Agentic commerce is fundamentally changing how consumers discover and shop for products, creating significant opportunities for brands that can make the journey more personal, intuitive, and engaging. Glance is uniquely positioned to capitalize on this evolution, combining a differentiated consumer proposition with broad distribution across the screens where people spend their time.”
Dahnke added that L Catterton will contribute consumer category knowledge, operational resources, and an international network to support the platform’s scale.
