Ross Stores opened 47 new stores in June and July, including 35 Ross Dress for Less locations and 12 DD's Discounts, across 15 states and territories in the United States, the California-based retailer announced. The rollout keeps the off-price chain on pace for roughly 110 store openings this year.
The new Ross locations extend the chain's footprint in Puerto Rico, New York and Michigan, alongside continued growth in Sunbelt markets, said Richard Lietz, Executive Vice President of Property Development. The new DD's stores are concentrated in existing markets in California, Florida, North Carolina and Texas. Ross Stores paired the openings with donations to local Boys & Girls Clubs and First Book literacy partners in the communities where the stores are located.
"Looking ahead, we see attractive opportunities as off‑price continues to grow, and we are well positioned to capitalize on them," said Leitz in a statement.
The expansion comes as Ross continues to outperform. In its most recent quarter, reported in May, the company posted revenue of 6.01 billion dollars, up 20.6 percent year over year, with comparable-store sales rising 17 percent. Ross ended the quarter with 2,282 locations, and management raised full-year earnings guidance to a range of 7.50 to 7.74 dollars per share, citing broad-based sales gains across merchandise categories.
The company is a Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 constituent, with fiscal 2025 revenue of 22.8 billion dollars.
