American interior designer Kelly Wearstler has added a ready-to-wear capsule collection to her homeware collaboration with H&M Home.

In a statement, H&M said the 8-piece fashion capsule has been designed to “bridge interiors and fashion in a cohesive, design-led vision,” by bringing Wearstler’s “bold aesthetic, a celebration of beauty, form and function, to a wider audience”.

The move means the collaboration now includes a 29-piece interior collection, spanning from modular furniture to sculptural décor, as well as fashion, inspired by Wearstler’s personal style.

The eight ready-to-wear pieces are described as being “unmistakably Kelly,” and include a coated cotton trench with a layered leather collar and matching lapel detailing, to a collarless cropped leather jacket with zip sleeves, a sequin skirt and a vase-printed slip dress.

The capsule also features a contemporary take on a white shirt with a boxy, boyfriend design with shoulder pads, which sits alongside a cropped white cotton T-shirt with an embroidered vase, and low-slung trousers and denim jeans.

Commenting on the addition of ready-to-wear, Wearstler said: “The opportunity to challenge both my own skills and those of my studio, while creating something artisanal yet accessible, was incredibly exciting.

“Fashion is a massive source of inspiration for me. I wanted to incorporate classic elements that can be built upon, like the furniture designs. It’s all about providing a base wardrobe that feels timeless and versatile.”

Evelina Kravaev-Söderberg, head of design and creative at H&M Home, added: “Kelly is fluent in both interior and fashion. She has become a fashion icon herself in the way she expresses herself through clothes and other multiple creative media and often draws inspiration from the fashion side when creating interiors too.

“So, as the core of H&M is fashion/garments, it was interesting to make a few fashion pieces as well inspired by the design aesthetics of the furniture and objects.”

The full Kelly Wearstler H&M Home collection will be available from September 3 in select H&M stores and online at hm.com, while the ready-to-wear capsule will only be sold online at hm.com.
