Thinx launches new styles with LeakSafe™ barrier technology

New York-based reusable period underwear company Thinx has launched new styles with its innovative, patent-pending LeakSafe™ Barrier technology.

Created to provide wearers with all-day protection, the innovative offers higher rates of absorbency, with leak protection for up to 12 hours. Available across all the brand’s products, including Thinx, Thinx Teens, and Thinx for All, the four-layer gusset features enhanced comfort and odor technology to help wearers feel fresh and dry throughout the day, according to Thinx.

“Testing found that our new LeakSafe Barrier technology can stand up to heavy flows and is absorbent enough for the majority of users,” said Courtney Newman, senior director of product design at Thinx, in a statement. “By blending aesthetics with function, we were able to minimize the thickness of the gusset layer while maximizing the width of the secure barrier to create an exceptional product that allows customers to get it all - comfort, style, and protection.”

The new styles can absorb up to 12 regular tampons or three menstrual cups worth of flow and are designed to decrease the need for disposable products and or a mid-day underwear change. This new development is in line with the brand’s ongoing mission to improve standards in period products.
