As Vancouver Fashion Week (VFW) prepares to return for its Fall/Winter 2024, the event continues to highlight both international and local designers, underlining the power of diversity.

Set to run from April 23 to 28 at the David Lam Hall, Chinese Cultural Centre on East Pender Street, Vancouver, the six-day event will feature over 50 designers from more than 25 cities around the world. The second-largest fashion week in North America, Vancouver Fashion Week is among the few industry events to actively showcase acclaimed, award-winning interior designers alongside national talent.

This season sees brands such as Mernini, Hazi Haus and ANK by Amrit opening the event on April 23. Other established designers showing during the event include Amir Sam, Chidori and Jean de la Croix, who will be presenting their collections during individual shows throughout the week.

Local designer Alex S. Yu returns to the schedule to showcase his latest avant-garde designs after presenting his collections during New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, and Tokyo Fashion Week.

"At Vancouver Fashion Week, diversity is our greatest strength,” said Jamal Abdourahman, producer and founder of Vancouver Fashion Week, in a statement. “We bring together the most incredible design talent from across Canada and worldwide, presenting the most forward-thinking creative concepts to the industry. Fashion is a truly global phenomenon, and it's inspiring to see such a strong mix of designers all under one roof here in Vancouver."

Retaining a steadfast commitment to nurturing creative expression, Abdourahman aims to position Vancouver as a leading destination for fashion, welcoming a mix of creatives, fashion enthusiasts, and designers.
