Brooks Brothers, America’s oldest clothing retailer, has opened a new flagship store at 195 Broadway. The move sees Brooks Brothers returning to the Lower Manhattan neighborhood, where it initially began more than two centuries ago.
The new flagship store, located on the corner of Broadway and Fulton Street, spans 10,000 square feet across two floors. Situated within an iconic landmark building, the former headquarters of the American Telephone & Telegraph Company, which was designed by architect William Welles Bosworth, Brooks Brothers has preserved the space’s original architectural details, maintaining key historic elements such as towering marble columns, ornate chandeliers, and bronze accents throughout.
The flagship features the retailers ' full men’s and women’s collections, developed under the guidance of its creative director, Michael Bastian, including tailored clothing, sportswear, and exclusive offerings such as limited made-to-measure fabrics, archival vintage pieces, and spring/summer 2025 designs from the Eye Junya Watanabe Man collaboration.

The store will also include a rotating display of historic artifacts from the Brooks Brothers archive, including a replica of Abraham Lincoln’s inauguration coat, a 19th-century store mirror, personal belongings of founder Henry Sands Brooks and his son, and archival imagery from the brand’s earliest locations.
“Brooks Brothers has long been a cornerstone of American fashion, and we are excited to return to the Financial District, so near to the roots of our brand’s legacy,” said Ken Ohashi, CEO of Brooks Brothers, in a statement. "We are thrilled to have discovered this remarkable, historic building and look forward to welcoming both locals and visitors as a vibrant destination in the heart of downtown.”
"Since 2021, Brooks Brothers has experienced impressive, consistent growth year over year," Ohashi continued. "The opening of this new New York City store, alongside several more locations planned in the near future, marks an exciting chapter in the continued evolution and success of our brand."
To mark the opening, Brooks Brothers hosted a reception and private dinner on May 28, 2025, at Nobu Downtown, located next to the new store. Brooks Brothers currently operates two additional stores in New York City, one at Rockefeller Center and the other at Madison Avenue on 86th Street, alongside 141 stores across the US.
Founded in 1818, Brooks Brothers has grown from a single store on Catherine and Cherry Streets into a fully-fledged international brand that honors the American style, with more than 500 stores, shop-in-shops, and outlets in 45 countries.
