Primark set to open second store in Queens, New York

Irish fast-fashion retailer Primark is set to open a new store in Queens Center in Elmhurst, New York, ahead of the holiday season.

The new store will open on December 5, marking the second store to open in Queens, following Primark's debut location on Jamaica Avenue and the tenth Primark store in New York. Spanning more than 37,000 square feet of retail space, the store will offer Primark’s complete assortment of apparel, essentials, beauty, and homeware.

The store’s upcoming opening follows the retailer’s recent announcement of a new lease in Herald Square in Manhattan, underlining Primark’s strong growth in the state and the New York City metropolitan area. Part of Primark’s current retail expansion strategy in the US, the new Queens Center store opening will see Primark operate 28 stores across 11 states.

"At Primark, we want as many people as possible to look good and feel good about the fashion and essentials they buy for themselves and their families," said Kevin Tulip, president of Primark US, in a statement. "Opening this new store in Queens Center Mall will help us deliver our amazing value to more New Yorkers just in time for what we know can be a stressful holiday shopping season."

To celebrate the new store opening, Primark will host a series of events in its Queens Center starting from December 5 to December 8, including live DJs, giveaways, and more.
