More than 30 luxury brands are set to open new locations at South Coast Plaza this year. Leading fashion houses, including Cartier, Gucci, and Lanvin, will open their doors for the first time at the shopping center in Costa Mesa, California, throughout 2024.
The largest shopping center on the West Coast of the United States, South Coast Plaza, will see the opening of stores from Casper, Lanvin, and Palm Angels during the first part of the year.
Gucci is set to unveil an impressive 19,000-square-foot flagship store spread over two levels in spring 2024. The new Gucci store will be located next to the two-story Balenciaga flagship, which, having opened in late 2023, is the largest Balenciaga store in the Americas.
Other luxury brands set to open their doors this year include Alaia, Amiri, Armani/Caffè, Baccarat, Courrèges, Dior Men, Eileen Fisher, Jacques Marie Mage, Mejuri, Santa Maria Novella, Wolford, and Zegna, with additional announcements concerning other stores expected shortly. Lanvin and Jacques Maria Mage will open their boutiques later in 2024.
The announcement comes as Maison Margiela, Marni, and Jil Sander open their debut retail locations in the center. Marking a first for South Coast Plaza, global fashion conglomerate and parent company OTB debuted three of its leading fashion brands by simultaneously opening adjacent stores in the shopping center. Located on the lower level of the Saks Wing, situated near Jewel Court at South Coast Plaza, all three brands opened their stores on Friday, January 12.
Luxury fashion house Balmain debuted its flagship boutique at South Coast Plaza in late 2023. Emily George, president of Balmain in the Americas, noted the brand was "thrilled to join the ranks of luxury brands at the Iconic South Coast Plaza and offer our loyal customer base in Southern California the highest level of products and service close to home."
Giorgio Armani recently opened the doors of its newly designed and relocated store in South Coast Plaza, to a design created by Giorgio Armani in collaboration with his team of architects. The new store will include a reimagined coffee bar adjacent to the new boutique as Armani/Caffè, with a new design, menu, and furnishings that are set to be revealed over the next coming weeks.
Additional brands, including Chloé and Baccarat, are revitalizing their current boutiques at South Coast Plaza, while Dior is expanding its presence in South Coast Plaza with a new men's store conveniently situated beside its existing flagship boutique.
Spring 2024 will also mark the debut of newly expanded and exquisitely designed boutiques by Cartier and BVLGARI in the Jewel Court. Harry Winston will also unveil its redesigned and enlarged boutique later in the year.
These store enhancements will further elevate the luxury shopping center’s reputation as the premier destination for high-end timepieces and jewelry in North America, boasting the largest aggregation of 35 luxury stores under a single roof. This expansion follows the successful launch of flagship stores for Graff, Van Cleef & Arpels, and David Yurman in late 2023.
